Startup Radius interviewed guys from Snov.io – the email finder tool to extract leads (emails, names and more contacts) from websites, and especially Linkedin. Learn more how they are different from Skrapp.io, Hunter,io, what inspired them and how Snov.io became the less expensive solution on the market.
Can you tell us about what you are working on? What is Snov.io?
Snovio is a relatively new company that specializes in outbound research. Snovio helps to find connections, email addresses and other personal information such as company a person works for, job position, role in company. These data makes communication with other people or businesses easier to improve bottom line: either by finding right candidate for work or acquiring new investors and customers.
Snovio works on launching new features now – email verifier and mail sequencer. These features help to verify email addresses and then send a message to a contact list. Snovio finds email and other information, verifies email addresses and sends the message that needs to be delivered. This is how easy this is.
Why are you building this? Was there a particular source of inspiration or big idea?
There are so many complications on the way of establishing new connections. We built Snovio to help people to search for and reach particular connections, save time and money. Snovio is the cheapest solution in current market and we wanted it to be like this so our customers save more and accomplish the most.
The source of inspiration is beautiful river Snov that flows in our region – it is well known here and many of us go there to have rest and relax. So while having rest and looking at this peaceful river the idea came to create a research tool that will make it easy to find anyones email and connect with people. This is how the name came up. Another question we thought of was searching for right candidates for a company like where to find them, how to filter them, how to reach the person you need to reach – this is usually complicated, time and money consuming process. With Snovio it is easy now!
How big you are – traffic, users, anything else?
We launched Snovio only 4 months ago, so now we are trying to receive as much feedback as we can from people who currently use it and make sure our new and regular users are satisfied and don’t have any issues with using Snovio. We are relatively new company but as it was mentioned before we are growing very fast and will be launching additional features – email verifier and mail sequencer very soon.
Every day we receive at least 10 new users but considering we are still growing it is a good result.
Snovio team went to a first Collision conference in New Orleans to show Snovio to potential investors and interested people. We are working hard on promoting and improving Snovio and will continue to do so.
Who are your main competitors, and how good/bad they are?
In order to succeed it is better to know your competitors. We researched our competitors and checked what we can do better than they do. We have some competitors that have similar products but there are always differences.
The main difference from our competitors is that we are the cheapest solution in current market. You won’t be able to find an app that offers great prices and helps to find, extract, verify and send messages to contacts – all at the same time! Another advantage is that Snovio works with any websites, LinkedIn, domain addresses unlike our competitors who work mostly with LinkedIn. This gives way wider options in finding leads and saves time as well.
We can review couple competitors. Hunter.io specializes in finding emails as well but first and main difference is our pricing. Our prices are lower and we don’t charge extra credits for finding emails – only when they are saved to the contact list. So, Snovio can save money.
Skrapp.io works with LinkedIn only but Snovio will find and extract emails not only from LinkedIn but from any website as well as from domain addresses.
Who uses Snov.io? What are your client types?
Snovio can be used by anyone from business decision makers, employers who are looking for the best candidates to join their team to someone who is looking for new connections. It can be somebody who is tired of looking for connections – extracting them manually, then saving them one by one. Somebody who values time and money too.
Were there any early ‘growth hacks’ or tactics that have boosted your launch (or current success)?
Basically we learned from our competitors. We looked at what and how they do, used their products as well to see what is good about them, their mistakes and difficulties. This way we learned what we should or shouldn’t do.
What were some of the biggest challenges while building the product early on and how did you solve them?
There were some minor issues at the beginning but thanks to our users and their generous feedback we fixed them. We are still looking for any feedback in order to improve what we do. When we receive a message about issue that was discovered with our app we direct it to our support team and they fix it very fast.
How do you monetize and why you prefer your monetization model?
Monetization model often works the best with software apps as it helps people to study the app first and then dig in deeper and buy it. That’s why in most of the cases the app is free first but then some new features will be introduced as paid option only.
When you create something that is interesting and works well, your model will work also. Especially, when your product is different and better than your competitors have. We launched our app for free first and with more and more people who started using it we decided to leave a forever free plan as well as paid plans.
If you could give a marketing advice to other companies, what could it be based on your experience?
The only advice is to create something that people are looking, waiting for, something that will make difference for businesses and people, a product that will improve lives. It is always good to know your target market and be ready to answer questions about your product or help with anything if needed.
What are the top 5 products/services you use in your company and why do you like them?
Our company uses many products and services as it is crucial for our work. The top 5 products that we use most often are Intercom, Jira, Google analytics, Semrush and Telegram.
- Intercom is mostly used to reach people who use our app, send them messages, receive their feedback – it is very convenient.
- Google Analytics shows real-time data. It is important to see how often our app is being used, to get feedback from users as well. We use it to know sales activity and in this way to understand if performance is good or needs some improvement.
- Telegram is a convenient way to chat with colleagues as you can type your message, share picture or screenshot, quickly as well as efficiently solve any problem together. It is great to throw new ideas there and discuss them. Besides, there is no need to yell through the office to deliver your message 🙂
- Semrush provides detailed website audit report and helps to understand our position comparing to our competitors.
- Of course, Jira. It is easy to track issues, report them and solve as well.
